Cleaning and maintaining your VOFFOV OFFICE chair is quick and easy. If you take good care of it, your chair will continue to look great and work well for many years to come.
General Care
While we designed VOFFOV OFFICE chairs to be durable, that doesn't mean you should abuse it or neglect taking care of it. We've compiled a list of handy tips to help you clean and maintain your chair so that it stays looking good and working well.
Keep it clean
No one likes sitting on a dirty chair! Wipe down the leather portions of your chair with a damp cloth every now and then, especially if you've been sitting on it during a warm day.
Keep out of direct sunlight
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can damage PU leather and may cause it to crack eventually.
Don't abuse it
Even the toughest of chairs won't be able to stand up to rough usage. Prevent impacts and drops, and keep sharp objects away from your chair.
Follow the usage information
Improper use of the chair can result in damage to its parts, or even worse, the user. Make sure you're using your chair safely.
Keep pets away
If your pet has sharp claws, we cannot ensure that even our PU leather will withstand a good clawing. We've heard stories of dogs chewing up the pillows as well-try not to let that happen!
Perspiration & Friction
No matter how durable leather is, accumulated perspiration can ultimately degrade the integrity of the leather over time. Keeping your chair free from dirt, perspiration or oils goes a long way in prolonging your chair's lifespan — check out the Leather Care section below for more details!
Leather Care
- Dampen a clean microfiber cloth with a little water. If using leather cleaner, spray a small amount onto the cloth.
- Gently wipe the leather until clean. Leave the chair to air dry before using.
PU Leather
We picked our PU leather because it's durable and stain-resistant, which means it's really easy to clean. For dirt and light stains, you can simply wipe the leather clean using a microfiber cloth dampened with a little water.
NAPA Leather
The real leather of the NAPA series requires a bit of extra care, as natural leather isn’t water-resistant due to its breathability. Clean up any spills as soon as possible. Use a dry cloth or a paper towel to absorb any liquid, and wipe down with a microfiber cloth dampened with a little water. Apply a high-quality leather conditioner at least once every three months to keep the leather fresh and supple.
Fabric Care
Our Soft Fabric, like any other fabric, may become dirty over time. Loose particles and dirt can be simply vacuumed up, and any spills should be blotted up with a dry cloth or paper towel as soon as possible.
A commercial fabric cleaner may be used to clean dirty spots-just be sure to test it on a non-conspicuous part of your chair first.
Suede Care
Some chair variants feature suede fabric on parts of the chair. Unlike our PU leather, suede is not water-resistant, so minimize contact with water as much as possible.
To clean loose particles and dirt, wipe with a dry microfiber cloth against the grain of the suede. Any spills should be blotted up with a dry cloth or paper towel as soon as possible.
Pillows
As with any kinds of fabric, sweat and gunk can build up over time in the velour covers of our pillows. You shouldn't have to wash them often, but if they start smelling funny, we recommend hand washing them in water below 30 degrees celsius (around 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Leave them to air dry-don't squeeze the water out! You might end up flattening your pillow.
Functional Parts
The moving and functional parts of the chair-such as the armrests, tilt mechanism and hydraulics-should not need much maintenance, as long as they are used in a non-abusive manner. If there are any issues with these parts of your chair, please don't hesitate to contact us! If your chair is still under warranty, we'll be able to assist you with replacement parts if needed.
